  • Anyone bored enough to help with BMD trawl?

I did half of this last night but ancestry was so slow I was up until some ungodly hour of the morning and as a result I'm shattered today and my brain is not up for it again.

So if anyone is extremely bored and is looking for something to I'd be very grateful for any help

Florence Nellie Fenton born 1887 in ST Pancras

married William George Lonergan in West Ham in 1907

They had daughter Florence Nellie Lonergan in 1908.

Last night I trawled Lonergan deaths from 1908 to 1964.

No sign of Florence Nellie (junior or senior) but there is a possible for William George in Poplar in 1919 aged 35. I know nothing about William George so I'm not sure if this is the right one or not - although his age is similar to Florence.

if it is the right death there's a possibility Florence Nellie Lonergan remarried as well as a marriage for daughter under the same name.

I'm trying to trace this part of the family forward in hope of getting a living contact on it.

So if anyone is looking for a distraction I'd be over the moon with help on looking for any marriages that may fit so I can start trawling for further generations tomorrow

    Big THANK YOU in advance

According to FreeBMD there is a possible marriage for a Florence M Lonergan to Frederick C Speller q4 1919 West Ham. Its on a typed list so could originally have been an N.

Is that too soon after first hubby died?

that's the exact thought I had when I woke up this morning having done 56 years of deaths last night. So I'm hoping not

I just found a Florence N Lonergan marrying Arthur Marks in Poplar in 1920 which could be the mother

              yaaaaaaaay - cheers Kat

That's probably both of them then - although I'll finish up to 1950 just in case anyone was up for marrying a 63 year old widow

I'm feeling guilty now. I offered to help with this but I've been away having dinner. Have I missed the boat? Have you got everything you want now Zoe?

just got back from Tesco so I'm checking through now to see how far I've got

I started looking for children of Florence Lonergan and Leonard Seager.

Need to be careful from here on in though as they're likely to still be alive

That'd be great if you don't mind.

I can only find one child for her though - a girl. Just trawling marriages to see if she'd be a Seager still or possibly something else

Have you ever got any further with your research................I am doing some research on William George Lonergan to see if he should be commemorated as war dead. I came across his headstone in Manor Park Cemetery, along with Florence Nellie (Fenton) and Florence Nellie Seager. The stone says he died of Malaria in 1919 contracted overseas serving his king and country. If this is correct he certainly should have war grave status. I have found his birth / marriage entries, plus a 1891 and a 1911 census record but oddly no reference in 1901. Also his death is recordsd on Ancestry at a sick hospital in Bethnal Green.Any information as to his whereabouts pre 1919 or any military information on him would be really helpful.

                              Regards Steve
