Direct X

It won't let me play half my games as it says I haven't got Direct X installed. I don't know how it got uninstalled but I've downloaded it again. Now it says I've got to have Direct 3 enabled. What do I have to do please?

Which version of windows are you using ? I'm wondering if you are using Vista which
requires Direct3D ?

I'm using windows xp but the game I was trying to download was a brand new one. Maybe thats why it wouldn't work?
