The fathers' names were not included until civil registration began in 1837. Are the names of the witnesses any help?

You will have to look at the parish registers in the hope that both William DEWIS and Elizabeth JEFFERY were baptised in the parish

If that is them that Merry has found it could be a 2nd marriage for both of them given the ages.

So Elizabeth may not have been born a Jeffery.

Does the copy of the marriage say "Widow of this parish" for her?

It only means she was living there before the marriage, not that she was born there though!

Well that information isn't available on the IGI so you would probably need to buy a few credits to search the National Burial Index at familyhistoryonline.co.uk

Well, hopefully after the conception of his second child with Elizabeth and before she remarried!!!!

There's one in 1805 in Warwickshire on the NBI.

If no one else has got the entry (may not be him obviously!) in a few mins I'll go and dig out my CD's.

                                  The NBI entry is

15th May 1805 at Binley Warwickshire (about 6 miles away) William Jefferies. No age given.

Seems a bit early to me, though not far away.

Getting sight of the 1806 bap might help. Would usually say if the father was dec'd (if he was!).
