saving FTM files to flash drive??

My daugter has to reformat my pc. Before she does that I want to save my tree to the flash drive. I saved it to desk top and then drgged to the drive. Tried to open it from there and it says I cant open it from there...How do you do it! Need to know Fast!! HELP appreciated.

BTW using FTM 2005 and it doesnt give the option for saving to a removable device.

Hi

You won't be able to open FTM files from a flash drive because your full FTM program is not installed on there.

After your hard drive has been reformatted reinstall FTM. From the file menu select restore from local backup and then select the drive letter of your flash drive. Select restore and your information should transfer from flash drive to FTM on your hard drive.

I've recently done this onto a laptop with no problem. I used the backup facility from the file menu on FTM to create the files on the flash drive.
