I've just been e-chatting with a contact, using Yahoo, and realised that the way I organise my address book may be of use to others.
I give fellow-researchers nicknames according to the families they're researching. It means that if I have a Discovery that will be of interest to a whole lot of folks, it's quite easy to call them up, because I just start typing in the family name and all the relevant researchers are offered to be by the way Yahoo works. This is probably true for a number of email set-ups. I also put a Note where the contact came from (e.g. GR, Ancestry, FTF) so I can track back if I need to.
I'm up to Christmas12, plus Christmas_ONS, and up to Chapman8 so far, for instance.
