  • Losing the Time on my computer !!!

When I start my PC, the Time (and sometimes the Date) is wrong, so I change it, press 'Apply' and then 'OK'.

The same happens again when I start the PC up the next time.

    Any thoughts ?

It's no doubt a really simple reason - but somewhat annoying.

My PC isn't connected up to a Network - it's just on it's own in a room at my house !

Can anyone offer some help please ?

    Thanks

    Simon

My guess is that you need to change the battery on the motherboard.

I agree with Linda...time for a new battery. Do it very soon, or one day it won't start.

Thanks for that - how do I go about doing that ?

Is there a standard battery fo rthe Motherboard ? Do I just open up the machine, take out the battery and go to (where ???).

You can see how much I know about this aspect of computers ! lol !

Yes...they are standard. If you open the computer they are easily seen. They are just like a big watch battery. Any computer shop will have them and they are cheap.

I'll have a go at that over the weekend then. The computer is about 4 years old.

            Many thanks indeed.
