  • Fancy a tough one? 1851

Anyone find this lot in 1851 - or any of this lot in 1851?

    1841
Turnmill Street, Clerkenwell - all born in county
    William Ehn, 40 married furrier
    Matilda Ehn 30
    *George Ehn 16
    *Lewis Ehn 12
    Julia Ehn 8
    Clara Ehn 4

    * I am fairly certain that this is Frederick George Marsden b 1824 and Lewis Marsden b 1828, parents Lewis Marsden & Matilda Marsden.

Complex relationships here - Matilda Marsden was originally Matilda Sellers. She had an elder sister Sarah Matilda Sellers who married William Ehn. Their sister Eve Sellers married Charles Ehn. After Eve's death Charles married Amelia Marsden, formerly Sellers, whose husband William Marsden was Lewis Marsden's brother. Hope that's clear!

    1861
    24 Westmoreland Road, Shoreditch
[head of household is Robert Bull 43, pianoforte maker]
Matilda Ehn 55 b St Lukes lodger widow furrier
Emma Ehn 21 niece unm b St Lukes furrier

No idea how this chap fits in, but same occupation and rare name must mean he is connected somehow. This bit of husband's family driving me nuts - two daughers called Sarah Matilda and then just Sarah, two marry Marsdens, two marry Ehns (one after she's married a Marsden) I am going bonkers!

Many thanks - off to check out now, though not sure it can be the same Clara - she would be in her 40s. Not impossible of course.

Can't find Clara in 1891, but she and Albert in 1901 in Paddington. Clara born 1867 in Clerkenwell, so she is another generation away from the Clara in 1851.
