They used to say "½" rather than "a" or "b" for house numbers, so it's probably a divided house or an extra house built in a gap.

My dad came from a big family and my mum had a sister, so there were lots of aunts and uncles and cousins. We were always at one anothers' houses. It was the same with neighbours - loads of kids to play with, so even though I had no brothers or sisters, I was never bored. But the absence of siblings did help turn me towards my own talents at an early age."

Noddy Holder was born on June 15, 1946. His father liked to sing in the local pubs and his mother played the violin. An early influence on the young Noddy was American singer Al Jolson whom he imitated from an early age, and when Noddy was 12 years old, his father bought him an old spanish guitar. With the advent of rock 'n' roll, Noddy took some lessons from local jazz guitarist Freddy Degville before forming The Phantoms who would play 1950s style rock 'n' roll and Shadows numbers, performing mainly at youth clubs

Who's Crazee Now?- My Autobiography by Noddy Holder (with Lisa Verrico) Elbury Press, Randomhouse, London ISBN 0 09 187503 X

As the front man of the Glam Rock band Slade, this Walsall boy gave the world the Black Country accent wrapped around a pile of number one hits. His story covers his working class begginings around Walsall and Wolverhampton, world wide music fame and his later work as TV and radio presenter.

The story of "The Grimleys" TV comedy drama ( set in a 70's Black Country comprehensive school) shows Noddy in his other life as a actor.

another thing i found out about noddy
Back in the Spring of 1968, things aren't looking too rosy for 19-year-old
singer Robert Plant. His promising group The Band Of Joy have just knocked
it on the head, and now he fronts the frankly less than awesome
Hobbstweedle.

"I had nowhere to live," Robert recalls of those scuffling days in the
blueswailing business, "and the keyboards player's dad had a pub in
Wolverhampton with a spare room. The pub was right over the road from Noddy
Holder's father's window cleaning business, and Noddy used to be our roadie.
We used to go to gigs with Noddy Holder's dad's buckets crashing around on
top of the van! And that," he divulges with an audible sigh of relief, "is
when I met Pagey..."
