  • This woman is driving me nuts!!

    evening all,

    I have Julia Elizabeth Graves born 1851 Uffculme Devon. I have her birth ref, parents John Graves and Susannah Harris Middleton.

    I have her on the 1851 census, HO107; Piece: 1888; Folio: 419; Page: 6; Mistrans as GANGES
    also on the 1861 census RG9; Piece: 1478; Folio: 45; Page: 5 (as GRAVES)

    But try as I might I cannot see hide nor hair of her after the 61 census..

    can anyone else see her please?

    where/when did she marry?

    (1876 Bristol maybe?Thomas Locke or william salter)

      I have no idea Jess,

      I thought she might be easier to find, Boy was I wrong, The last sighting I have is the 61 cens, dont know if she married/died/got beamed up

        I think she married William Salter a police constable.
        Ref in 1881 RG11
        Piece / Folio 2473 / 80

          still dont see where she'd be in the 71 though.....

            where ever she was in 1871 - home with Mum & Dad is where she wasn't!
            They are still tucked up in Uffcombe ( just thought I'd check)

            strange...Salters Middletons & Graves all on that page

              There's Julia Grey born Devon servant at Alveston....sounds similar....will check 1861

              Can't see Julia Grey in 1861.

                  In Dec Qt 1876 she married William Salter in Bristol
