  • Another Mills mystery

In 1841 I have the widowed Mary Mills and her brood, Ann(e), Elizabeth and Jane. Eldest brother Robert (born 1832) must have died, unless someone can find him. As I said on my other thread, I found Robert and the two elder sisters in the IGI. Father Joseph died late 1840.

The mystery is the final member of the family, a female aged 1 and beginning with J. She is not recorded in the Ancestry transcription for some reason. Oddly the family ends with a single stroke not a double one so does she actually belong to the next family (Davison)? I don't have any Davisons in this part of my tree.

What's her name and can you find her birth (presumably 1840 or 1839)?
I guessed Josephine but can't find anyone matching.

The index says Joseph and the page looks like Joseph to me. I expect the age was just put in the wrong box :(

Aha! Thanks very much, Merry. Wonder why he didn't get transcribed off the census.

Blow me down. Joseph did get transcribed with the Davisons next door.
