Is it possible to create a gedcom which only includes one individual and their descendants ?
If so how do you do it, I have ftm 2005.

If you use FTM, you can make a tree by getting the person you want on the screen and then go to Tree charts/ Descendant Tree Standard and it will produce a tree for you. Then click Export file/ Copy/Export Individuals in Descendent Tree and save the tree. Open it in FTM as a seperate tree and then save it as a Gedcom.

      Hope you can follow this.

The only thing to add to the above is to make sure you save the GEDCOM with a name you will remember easily. That way if you create another file for the same surname at a later date (perhaps for a rellie in another line for example) you won't get the two files confused.
