In Ancestry I have found a part record seemingly showing my grandfather enlisting in the RAF in 1918. All the details are correct, this has come as a surprise to the family as it’s never been mentioned. Without paying Ancestry more money for Fold3 is there anywhere I can have a look at the paperwork so as to check address?

I had a similar one. There is more detail on FMP than the Ancestry index to Fold 3. Of course there could be even more detail on Fold 3.
We, also, were surprised to find the record, which is definitely our man as the address is correct but he was over 40 at the time. Presume he was ground crew as he had only bricklayers skills.

Well, that's just the same type of record I found on FMP for my man. Interesting that Ancestry are charging extra!

Thanks for the help. Definitely my grandfather, address and occupation confirm it.

It may have been a very short length of service as mass demobilisation followed shortly after, which may be why it was never mentioned.
