Looking for info about the birth of Martin Hans Ziebarth, born Berlin, Germany, 23 Feb 1941. Source of this info is his US naturalization papers. He states on his Social Security application that his parents are Hans Ziebarth and Jeane Sylvester. While possible she is his mother, it's highly unlikely that she is his biological mother.
And, altho the SSDI indicates his DOD is 1975, there is a death in Heal, Victoria, Australia in 1976 that is probably his. Index on Ancestry says father's name was Hans, mother's name was "Lieselotte" - the same name that appears (on the next page) immigrating with Father Hans in 1946, so that jives.
Can more info from the DC be obtained? Is it possible to find out if he was married? Children?
Finally - there's very little information online about father Hans. He was a German engineer who arrived in the US in 1946. There is a remark on the arrival record about his group being escorted by a US military officer to a US military base. There's a couple of scientific papers with his name as a co-author (like, turbine engines). Anyone have a good reference about the German scientists that came to the US post WWII?
and if a mod could take the 'e' out of Berlin in the title, it would be much appreciate ;)
