  • Goulson/Jahnke

The two quotes below come from a German source and relate to designs for gas appliances

To preheat the combustion air A. Jahnke used in Hamburg (* DRP No. 39522 from August 19, 1886) two ribbed heaters, | 147 | between which the fresh air passes through. In Fig. 5, 10, B denotes the gas supply pipe,

    J. Page Goulson in Berlin (* DRP No. 40061 of 8 July 1886) preheats both the combustion air and the gas in his regenerative burner, namely, the gas supply pipe a ( Fig. 8 p. 10)

J Page Goulson is a new one on me though I have a copy of German papers for Job Goulson and several other items that put him in Berlin post 1860. His daughter married a chap by the surname of Janke.

Groom's Name: Michael Wilhelm Friedrich Janke
    Bride's Name: Ellen Goulson Bride's
    Marriage Date: 25 Oct 1871
Marriage Place: Evangelische Kirche, Berlin, Brandenburg, Preußen, Germany
    Groom's Father's Name: Michael Janke
    Bride's Father's Name: Job Goulson

I can see that A. Jahnke is very unlikely to be the father named in the marriage above, but the fact the surnames Janke/Jahnke are similar and there's a common theme with designing gas equipment could that hint at how the young couple met and later married?
