  • Ada Fisher abt 1875 Lincoln

Hoping someone can find some census details/family for Ada Fisher born 1875 Lincoln reg district please and possibly something in the 1939 register.

She married in 1922 so shouldn't be awkward with name changes.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Glen I think this may be her in 1881 with parents Thomas and Annie. Thomas is a joiner. - https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bi...try&h=12694173
Her birth reg is - FISHER, ADA - mmn HATTON - GRO Reference: 1875 D Quarter in LINCOLN Volume 07A Page 487
and there is a marriage of a Thomas Fisher to a possible Anne Hatton in Lincoln in March 1865 ref 7a 619.

I think the marriage you mean is the one to Joseph Goulson in March 1922 in Lincoln? I can't find an Ada Goulson born 1875 in 1939 though.

Thanks Chrissie, I've tried hunting her down on familysearch and only found the '81 result that you posted. In the past few minutes I found the transcribed PR of the Fisher/Hatton marriage.
And yes you are right about the 1922 marriage.

I was working forwards on my Beechey family (the five brothers who were killed in WWI). There's a Beechey/Fisher marriage and the Goulson/Fisher marriage, the brides were born 27 years apart and given the Beechey and Goulson families lived two doors apart you can guess what I was trying to do

The hard work of the last couple of days has worked out though as I had a reply from a Beechey cousin from down under this morning so there's going to be a flurry of emails and photos whizzing around the world in the next few days.

Are you sure she married in 1922? There is a marriage in Lincoln in 1905 to a Walter Dovey ref 7A 1135 and in 1939 they are living in Lincoln with son James (born 28th August 1908). Her birth is given as 25th September 1875 - https://search.findmypast.co.uk/reco...25c%2f005%2f37

Ahh well done Glen Sorry if I confused you. I saw that marriage and death but discounted them because of the area and when I found the other marriage and 1939.

I did initially, it's only after speaking to Joseph's grandson earlier today I knew the Yorkshire move took place.
