  • Burial Gilrose Cemetery Leicester 1958

Can someone point me in the right direction, I am looking for the grave number for a William R Smith with a nickname of 'Anstey Bill' who died in 1958 following a car crash and was buried at Gilrose Cemetery Leicester. He was born in 1906 and Married a Maud Elsie Flowers in 1928 and she is buried with him and she died in August 1988.
    Thanks
    Jo

I found the following couple buried at Gilroes Cemetery in plot YY 371, which I should think must be them:

William Richard Smith, age 55, no date of death given, buried 29/10/1960
Maud Elsie Smith, age 76, died 03/08/1988, buried 08/08/1988.

Found him in the National Probate Calendar; he was living in Leicester but died near Ibstock on 25/10/1960.

Letters of administration granted to his widow Maud Elsie Smith.

I've found a cutting about the crash in a 1960 newspaper if you're interested.

Will pop along to Gilrose tomorrow to check it out, thank you for all your help.
His son has died and we were having difficulty tracing the burial plot.
