  • Ancestry.com membership renewal

My membership to Ancestry.com is due for renewal and when I took it out a year ago I got a really good deal of 50% off (costing me just £90 for the year)... now they want £180 to renew it. Anyone know of any cheaper deals ?

I have the option of starting a new membership with a new e-mail address... but other than saving my GEDCOM file, would I lose everything ?

You will always be able to view your tree on Ancestry without a subscription and view any of your own uploaded images from other sites in full. You will only be able to view the transcriptions of Ancestry's records though. ie you won't be able to view the images of censuses etc.
I always download any images and save them to my own computer as I go along.

Don't know about Ancestry.com but this is for the UK one

see post #150. The offer still appears to be working. You do need to wait for a few days after the sub expires before taking up the offer.
