  • Is Hanh a name

I have Elizabeth Ann Ramsden baptised 12-4-1812 at St Michaels Yorkshire.
The register shows her dad as John and her mum as Hanh. I am trying to go further back but I cannot find a marriage for the parents and I am not sure about the name Hanh

    Can anyone enlighten me please
    Regards
    Ann

Unlikely for a vietnamese speaker to be living in Yorkshire in 1812. More likely it's an odd spelling of Hannah I'd have thought.

It'll be an abbreviation of Hannah rather than an alternative spelling, I should think.

Much more likely to be shorthand version of Hannah ............. often written as Han'h
