  • noak hill and pilgrim's hatch

can anyone tell me which parish noak hill and pilgrim's hatch belonged to in the early 1800's? they are both villages now part of brentwood in essex.

noak hill is noted as the residence on a baptism in south weald in 1805. and pilgrim's hatch was the residence on a burial in 1827 at romford.

    thanks.

    Bit about Noak Hill here

I wonder if Pilgrim's Hatch was the name of a farmstead or dwelling rather than a settlement??

thank you janet, i'll read that. pilgrim's hatch was apparently not a village as such until the mid 1800's. it got it's name as a stopover from pilgrims to canterbury.
