  • Sharing a tree on Ancestry

Have invited someone to share a tree on Ancestry. The email received OK but saying the invited person has to open an account to view. Is this new? I'm not the home person in this tree.

Don't know if it's new or not - always assumed you had to have an account to view.
But you don't need an active subscription, just set up a free guest account:

More info here, if you want to have a play around:

Thanks Christine. Haven't invited anyone for a long time and no one ever mentioned that they had to open an account.
