How do you know James Evan's exact date of birth please? Do you have a baptism record for him?

If it were me, I'd treat most of the information as not proved until you can match it up with at least two descendants. The marriage is probably the best place start and "FreeBMD" UK throws up only marriage in your timeframe and county which might be worth ordering for information on the couple themselves, their fathers and marriage witnesses. You can obtain a copy of the certificate from The General Register Office, if you give them the following information: 1860, Quarter Apr-Jun, Knighton, Volume 11b, Page 323, using the full names you gave us.

You may already be aware that civil records only started in 1837, so before that you are reliant on parish records, which tend to be less informative.

Let us know how you get on.
