My great great great great grandmother is buried at Economy United Methodist Cemetery in Morristown, TN (Hamblen County). Jane Spoon (Maiden name was Williams and I also know she was called Jennie as well) She was born in 1823, died in 1890. She married Mahlon Spoon in 1844 in Grainger County, TN. I've been trying to find info about her parents because I'd like to know what her parents names were so I can go back with the line further, specifically my direct maternal line. In census records, it has Tennessee as her place of birth. I'm thinking the Williams' of Economy United Methodist Cemetery are related to her somehow...I just get that feeling. Any help would be appreciated.

no guarantees.
You might try looking at this book, on page 416 ***
The historical and biographical sketches are of the following counties: Anderson, Bledsoe, Blount, Bradley, Campbell, Carter, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger,...
There are many hits for the word "Williams" in this book, I've only looked at two. I had no hits for "Spoon". The search box in the upper right hand corner does work, tho.
*** not sure. page numbers seem totally waco. Here's what I saw that interested me - wondering if your Jane could be one of the several sisters:Attached FilesLast edited by PhotoFamily; 04-03-18, 02:04.

Have you been able to retrieve a death cert? In such early days, it probably wouldn't have parents' names, but you never know. What about a marriage cert?
You may find familysearch's wiki useful
Guide to Hamblen County, Tennessee ancestry, genealogy and family history, birth records, marriage records, death records, census records, and military records.
that link has a link to their grainger co page, too.
Newspapers. It looks like finding the certs might be difficult if not non-existent. Have you found her obit? The wiki page lists newspapers. The local public library may be able to look up her obit (sometimes free, usually a small fee)
Yeah, here's a link
and then under tennessee electronic library there's a menu item for genealogy - it asks for your info. dunno what they've got.
let us know how it goes!

Yeah, one other thought:
Sometimes you search the side branches to find your own. If you can find an obit source for Morristown, you could also pick up obits for the peeps you think you're related to in the Economy cemetery. They may mention surviving sibs, or the sibs that predeceased them.

The marriage is on FMP, but the site is apparently down for maintenance "at the moment" so I can't look at the image to see if any parental names are there

The words are so small that I can't read them. Can you zoom in on the pic? I tried zooming in and it was even smaller and blurrier words.

If the library has the newspapers, then you could also ask them about others who are in the Economy cemetery. Have you looked on Findagrave?
