    Trying to research a Family Tree for some-one, I came across this;

    Ireland, Lord Viscount Morpeths Testimonial Roll 1841.

    Never heard of it, has anyone else?

    Lord Viscount Morpeth was the Chief Secretary for Ireland, a post which he relinquished in 1841. He was presented with a huge scroll, inscribed with the names of many inhabitants of Ireland. It is regarded as important due to many people leaving Ireland in the 1840's as a result of the famines.
    ETA - there would have been no further Irish documentation for those emigrating.

    Genealogists never die - they just swap places in the family tree
