  • Can anyone find Rebecca Louise Nichols please

Rebecca was born May 1819 in Lewisham (it varies by up to 2 years). I have her in 1841 with widowed mum and siblings and then nothing til 1861 when she turns up as Rebecca L Clarke "wife" of William Clarke Master Mariner - William born c 1813 Great Yarmouth - her 4 year old niece living with them. They live in Limehouse area.

I cannot find a marriage for them. I cant find a previous marriage for Rebecca either. Nor can I find her on the 1851.

Be grateful for input please. I find them both right up to 1901 so its just the 1851 missing and the marriage. Neither do they seem to have any children. I appreciate that as a master mariner William may not be on the seen for a census.

    Many thanks.

Thanks girls. You know I think I must be going senile (nods all round) as I looked at that lot a couple of times and thought oh no, thats the mum not the daughter. I even realised that the name must be Louise but still I discounted it - I guess cos of place of birth. Im loopy, but yes, I think it is her. Many thanks indeed.

Wonder why she never married. She shacked up with William by looks of it as no marriage about.

Many thanks again, I shall have to get back into the swing of researching again xxxx
