    George W Maune.jpgGeorge W Maune 2.jpgHi,
Wondering if anyone can help I have part of a naval record for 1869 that I can't make two words out one is a name and one where the mother is and also this young lads aunts name on the second attachment, I can make nearly all of the first attachment which is:( Mother at ------ but ------ said a letter from the mother to the aunt with whom the boy lives saying that she wants him to go to sea) his mother was in a workhouse in London at the time, she had gone in with two youngest children in 1866 and died in there 1873. This young lad joined for 10yrs and was on a ship called the Bellerophon where he was found drowned in Newport, Rhode Island at the age of 21yrs 1875.
That's another question would there be a death cert or just the ships log and if there is a certificate where would it be. Thank you in advance for any assistance with this querie.
    Regards.
Working...
