Would there be any reason for a couple to say their child is a Boy and not a Girl on an emigration record?
I know it sounds daft but
Have a John Thomas Keen born 1869 Bethnal Green , and his Wife Sarah Emily Keen nee Sigston born 1851 Regents Park, going to Boston Massachusetts in 1870
Now I have the Birth Cert for their Daughter Frances Mary Ann Keen born 1870 Pancras, but on the emigration record it says Francis Kean/mispelt a Male?? cannot find her with them in 1880 or a death for her but, I just found a record for a Francis Kean born abt 1870 on a 1897 passenger list for Boston
Can anybody make sense of this please
