Hello all. A bit long winded; I need help to find my great uncle George KING son of David KING and Fanny (nee Hayes)
Birth registered as Male King Q1 1869 Biggleswade district
Born 13 February 1869, baptised in Clifton parish church Bedfordshire 30 May 1869
1871 census, aged 2 living with his parents and 2 brothers in Clifton
1881 census aged 12 living with parents and 4 brothers in Clifton
1891 census – not with his parents who just have 2 youngest sons and a grand daughter at home
Not with parents in 1901 or 1911. Parents evidently believe him to be alive in 1911 as they claim 8 children, 6 alive, 2 died, which must refer to son Herbert and daughter Rosina who both died as children.
Other George King births in Biggleswade district
George King Q2 1868 mmn Peck - this is George son of George and Sarah, born Arlesey who appears on 1891 census with his parents in Finedon, Northamptonshire and was still there, with wife Agnes, in 1901 and 1911.
George William King Q1 1869 no mmn can’t spot this one in 1871
I was hopeful of the marriage of a George King to Lenness Bloffield in Biggleswade district 1890
George and Lenness appeared in 1891 in Meppershall, Bedfordshire. Then in 1901 he was in Islington and in 1911 back in Meppershall. He variously says born Campton and Shefford, both of which are very close to Clifton
BUT I got their marriage certificate. In father’s name box it said “Ann King, mother, now wife of Joseph Devereux" so guess this is the George William with no mmn.
So where did MY George KING disappear to after 1881? Does anyone have any ideas?
