Peter Craigie born Burntisland Fife died St Anne's Home Streatham on 10th January 1898. His death is registered by the matron. Only information given is age 67years and occupation formerly a Cabinet Maker of St. Pancras. I know from other sources he was in London in 1882. No trace 1891 census. I wonder if anyone could help with info regarding how long in St Anne's & more importantly his marital status as cannot find a death for his wife Margaret Nairn McNab Craigie.

Three of his daughters married in 1882.
Margaret Anna Kilgour Craigie married John Murray in Glasgow . no family witness
Mary McNab Craigie married Augustus Frederick Taylor in London. Witness youngest sister Rosa Jane
Sarah Baxter Craigie married William Valentyne Aspen in Glasgow. no family witness.
Son William Nairn McNab Craigie turned up in Newfoundland in 1882.
No trace of Rosa Jane after 1882. Also missing are sons Peter Alfred born 1863 & John Black born 1868.
I cannot find any of family except Mgt A.K. in 1881.

There is a record for St Pancras Workhouse for admission of Peter Craigie. Sorry can't put up a link.
If you are able to browse Ancestry - London Poor Law Board of Guardian records - Boro of Camden - Parish St Pancras - Religious Creed Register 1894-1895
Admission date 08/03/1894
Peter Craigie b 1830 Widower from Carlow Street, Religion EC. informant himself, Cabinet Maker.
Discharged (poor image) 12/03/?? to Highgate. Highgate I believe is the infirmary
Page 129/130 of 895. Bottom of page.
So possibly from there to St Ann's Residential. Can't see any records for the Infirmary.

I searched Carlow Street St Pancras for 1891 and there are no Peters or Margarets or even anyone from Scotland on that street. Doesn't want to be found does he. At least we know he was a widower by 1894.Kat

Have you considered this one?
Perhaps Peter moved down to London without his wife to find work first? or perhaps they parted company? She may have called herself a widow if they had split up. Divorces were very expensive then.
Have you checked John McNab to see if he is a relative of Margaret?Kat
