Greetings all,

I'm a long time member but first time poster, after many years of other stuff getting in the way family history is now relevant again... YAY!!

Anyway I'm helping my mum with her side of the family and one of the things that is starting to annoy us both is working out the movements of my great grandmother. Here are the details.

Gladys Marion Elvy b. 26/8/1892 in Christchurch N.Z.

She married James Arthur McKenzie 16/11/1912 in Sydney NSW Australia.

So sometime between her birth and her marriage she came to Australia. We have checked passenger lists, shipping records and anything else we can possibly think of with no results.

If anyone has any ideas that would be great.

The quickest way to find out when she came is probably to get her death cert, which should say how many years she'd been in Australia, if the informant was aware of it.
