  • Calling AntonyM please!

A question about birth registration please.
When an informant registers a birth, is the information given as it was on the child's day of birth or as it was on the day of registration?

I am considering whether a father shown as deceased on registration would have died before the birth, or after the birth but before registration. Would a child born after the father,s death be shown as posthumous?

    Thankyou in advance.

Details should be recorded as they were at the time of the birth - if he is shown as deceased on the register entry, then he (should have) died before the birth.

Exception is the informant's details which are recorded as they are at the time of registration.
