    Not looking for baps at the moment
    Cannot find even one of these registered at Birth
    Walter William Brown abt 1847 Ridgewell Essex
    George Brown abt 1849 "
    Jane Brown abt 1856 Hammersmith
    William Brown 1859 " he is the one I am most interested in, have his bap 10 Jul 1859



    Elizabeth Brown abt 1862 "
    Mary A Brown abt 1865 "

    Parents William Brown born abt 1826 Ridgwell Essex a Bricklayer and Elizabeth 1829 Ridgewell Essex, maiden name probably Mitchell.
    Cannot find their marriage either

    Perhaps they didn't register the births. I have quite a few who didn't bother before 1875.

      and only baptised one by the looks of it? a Private Bap, so assume he was a sickly baby ? thanks OC

        Hmm, mine who didn't register DID baptise. Perhaps yours were nonconformist? Was the privately baptised one born in the workhouse do you know?

            ............He was over 15 months old when he was baptised though...born 10th July 1859...., bapt.18th October 1860
            Usually I have found sickly babes baptised at a younger age, although of course he could have been well, at first.
