  • Paquettes in pre-1860 Ontario

    Hi all!

Does anyone happen to know why there are so few Paquettes in the 1851 Ontario census? I have checked almost every variation of wildcard spelling: Paq*, Poq*, Pasq*, etc, and not much luck. I am looking for Thomas Paquette born around 1833 in Ontario (parents unknown). There is one possibility in Malden Township Essex, ON, but I don't want to count my matches before they hatch. :-)

There are a great many Paquettes in the 1861 Census of Ontario...does anybody know why they are not showing up 10 years before?

    Thanks!
    Tara
