Are you assuming that they didn't change her Christian names Val? Otherwise I'm not sure how you hope t know which is her?Last edited by Chrissie Smiff; 27-01-17, 20:51.Chrissie passed away in January 2020.

As it was before formal adoption it would have been a private arrangement. I've never come across one where the forenames have been changed when a child was taken in, although of course that doesn't mean it couldn't have happened.

Just in case you are not already following this path. Had something similar recently Val. 1900 birth and got the biological surname via the marriage cert. She kept her first name. Was then able to find biological mother. I recall the adopted lady and she had a good life
