  • Anybody find Henry

4 Taylor children Baptised 31 Oct 1862 Midsomer Norton Somerset.

    George
    Kate
    Joseph
    Henry

Parents Joseph Taylor a Tailor and Eliza Sperring

Now Eliza and 4 of her children Kate 9, Bessie 3 James 8 and George an infant migrated to the USA in Dec 1870 have their births except for James ?

I know about all her 11 children but cannot find a Birth reg for either that Henry or James, am thinking maybe he was Henry James .

Children all registered in either Midsomer Norton or Clutton
    Thanks

According to the GRO site, surname Taylor and mother's maiden name Sperring brings up (all in Clutton)

Anne Julia Augusta Q/E Dec 1856
    Kate Q/E June 1860
    Joseph Garibaldi Q/E Sep 1861
George Washington Mazzini Q/E Dec 1862
    Augusta Annie Q/E Dec 1863
    Augusta Annie Q/E Mar 1865
    Annie Q/E Sep 1866
    Bessey Q/E Dec 1867
    George Q/E June 1869

Also Annie Jane Q/E June 1863 Bristol (presume she wasn't theirs looking at the dates)

Sounds like not all the children were registered if you think there were 11 although there wouldn't have been much time between them to have any more.

hi Jackie and thanks for responding, there were 12 in all as according to the 1900 census she had 12 children and 4 were still living.

      Anne Julia Augusta 1856-1864
      George Washington Mazzine 1858-1862
      Kate 1860-1938
      Joseph Garibaldi 1861-1921
      Henry/James ?
      George Washington Mazzine 1862-1865
      Augusta Anne 1863
      Augusta Anne 1865
      Anne 1866-1866
      Bessie T 1867-1939
      George 1869-abt 1900?
William Fisher Grimes (remember him) 1872-1945 so he was Josephs Son after all and Joseph died 25 Mar 1872 just a 7 weeks after William was born 2 Feb 1872

am finally tying this family up was quite surprised to find Joseph had died out there as I never did find his emmigration or immigration record.

            My head is spinning.

Couldn't see a Henry or a James. Neither of them in the 1880 but Joseph ((Garric/e) is there. Would have thought he would have come over with Eliza. Maybe he came with father. Will look some more.

Thanks for looking, the names are amazing aren't they Vera?
Seems Joseph migrated there in 1879 according to the 1900 census

So if Joseph Snr is the father of William who was b 1872 in the USA who was looking after Joseph G in the UK if he didn't arrive until 1879 I wonder.

My favourite is George Washington Mazzine but sad they died so young.

The 1920 census has Joseph G arriving in 1870. Maybe .Joseph G is the James on the ship with Eliza. Still doesn't answer your original question about Henry

thats odd as he isn't with his mother and siblings on the passenger list? maybe he came out with his father then separately ?
