General question I have been asked and I do not know the answer; can birth certificates for someone who is adopted be applied for by anyone other than the person, the person in question is deceased. They just want to do their family tree

Yes, anyone canbuy a birth certificate, as long as they know the birth name. There is no way for a third party to connect a birth identity to a new adoptive identity.

GRO now require the exact date of birth before they will issue any birth cert for someone less than 50 years old.

Thanks apparently the family know the birth name and his date of birth they asked me to research the family history but was not sure never been involved with adoption records. He died when he was 24 so if he was alive he would have been 65 so I think I should be ok then. I will see what happens when I get the details and apply for the certificate lol. Thanks again
