  • James Moss at St Nazaire when ship Lancastria went down

My Uncle James Moss served in the British Army (regt not known).
I remember being told by my parents that he was in St Nazaire when the Lancastria sank with many serving people etc.on board.
Uncle Jim died in 1977 & my parents are no longer alive. All I have is a greetings card that was sent from St Nazaire to my Dad from Uncle Jim.

I saw "WDYTYA" last week researching Amanda Holdens relatives & it brought this back to mind.I really would be interested to know if my Uncle was just there or if he was a survivor of this horrendous tragedy.

I know there were many soldiers from the Pioneer Corps involved but I don't think James Moss was in that Corps.

James Moss was from Eccles in Lancashire .

    Any help appreciated.
