Yes it says abortive - I would take that to mean miscarriage (I see the register also includes stillbirths)

I have often seen this in old registers. It means a stillbirth, as Judith says and the word had no criminal or deliberate meaning.

Yes is simply means the woman's body aborted the pregnancy; such wording is still used today in farming when an animal miscarries.

It is another example of not confusing modern usage of a word with the historic usage of a word and being careful not to read too much into what we see.

        Cheers

P.S> Terms used in registers include Stillbirth, still born, born dead, abortive birth or exceptionally non-viable child.

When I was five and a half months pregnant for the first time in 1966 I started having pains one morning. The doctor was called and he said that I needed to go to the hospital as he suspected I was having an abortion. Nothing sinister about it Val, just another way of saying that you are having a miscarriage. He was rather an 'old school' chap.
