Ernest Rainbow, Nottingham

I have a solicitor's letter concerning the distribution of the estate of Arthur and Sarah Smith of Nottingham which has come to me, and as I am not related I'd like it to go to someone with a firm connection.

Harriet Rainbow is one of the beneficiaries, I've researched her and her siblings and found she had at least one child, they are together on the 1939 register and I think this chap appears on an Ancestry tree, there's a pic of some medals on a public tree associated with an Ernest Rainbow 1911-1993 which are the same dates for the Ernest Arthur Rainbow I'm looking for. My ancestry sub has expired - could someone take a look please? Hoping his parents are Ernest Rainbow and Harriet (nee Smith).

Jill, that tree gives father and grandfather as Ernest but no spouses.
There are three generations forward - all private - from Ernest 1911. His wife is private but her mother was Sarah Anne Lawrence b1875 - no spouse -- and her father was Joseph no dates. There are the only 19 people in the tree mostly private. Looks like a tree started but never researched.
Tree belongs to dianemorris1324 last on 1 year ago.

The birth for Ernest tallies with the 1939 register, thankyou. I expect to take out an ancestry sub for a month or so later in the year, will try contacting the tree owner then, might have some more information for them among the packets of bit and pieces I haven't looked at yet.

Just looked at Deceased on Line but nothing there. he other crematorium for Nottingham is Bramcote and Ernest Arthur Rainbow is in their book of Remembrance.

All it said is

Ernest Arthur Rainbow 1911 - 1993. Loved and remembered always.

There is also Alice Rainbow 1915 2004. Always remembered.

Doesn't help much with your research but something you might not have been able to find easily.

Just had a quick look but The Nottingham Post obits on line don't go back that far.

Not sure if they are on line anywhere else in 2004.

Thankyou Lin and Cath - I've bitten the bullet and renewed my Ancestry sub, and have sent a message to the person who has him on their tree. I have also found a receipt from 1945 for the wills to which the letter I have.
