Hi everyone
This is a follow up query re my Edmonds/Barnes thread but thought it better to start a new post so as not to confuse everyone.
Details of the marriage of Walter King & Margaret Edmonds on 5th Apr 1913 at West Ham Register Office.
Walter King age 40, widower, builder’s labourer, address 31 Steele Rd, father Samuel King, blacksmith.
Margaret Edmonds age 36, widow, address 31 Steele Rd, father Thomas Barnes, domestic coachman (deceased).
I am now trying to pinpoint Walter King in 1911 but not having much luck.
I found who I thought was a likely candidate a Walter Thomas J King born q4 1873 West Ham (Silvertown or Silverton in census) & his father was Samuel according to the 1881 & 1891 census but just a labourer & not a blacksmith.
He married Annie Eliza Smith q1 1898 at West Ham & this is them in 1901 with a daughter Eva born c1899. Walter’s occupation is winchman ? ship.
This is Eva in 1911 living with her uncle John Smith, 3 siblings & her mother Annie King noted as married. Her father Walter is not with them.
I would appreciate some help to find the 2 Walter Kings in 1911 if indeed there were 2 of them & I can’t seem to find Steele Rd which was the address given on the marriage cert. Hoping to locate it in 1911.
I was getting quite excited that Walter Thomas J King & “our” Walter could be the same person until I came across a tree on Ancestry which lists another child born to Walter T J & Annie E born 1916 Custom House. The tree owner has Walter (no middle initials) dying in 1929 Rochford reg district & obviously doesn’t have a copy of the death cert.
Any help with Walter much appreciated.
Moggie
