  • NYC Dept of Records

Has anyone ever ordered a certificate from the New York City Department of Records, and if yes, how did you complete the online payment system. It says that you can pay by credit card but there does not seem to be anywhere to use that method.
Also the symbol for the amounts are causing confusion between $ and £.

    Website is http://www.nyc.gov/html/records/html/home/home.shtml

In a different direction: is this a record that is indexed on Familysearch?

I found a reference to a marriage including the date and place and certificate number at http://italiangen.org/records-search/grooms.php and was trying to purchase a copy of the marriage certificate, but with no success.

I found a marriage and a death on the same site - although my relation definitely wasn't italian - they just lived in that area of Brooklyn. It was a couple of years ago now but I did manage to order the death certificate from the NYC department and although they wanted the inside leg measurement of a duck in the way of information as I was a gt gt niece I was able to get the certificate - I'm not sure whether that would've been the case if I hadn't have been related - I had a bit of a shock when the certificate arrived as the cause of death was suicide by putting h** head in a gas oven - it came very promptly and I paid by credit card in dollars.
