John Henry Bastian was baptised at St Keverne, Cornwall , in October 1830. His father, John, died in 1832 and his mother, Jane, re-married in 1835. Where was John Henry in 1841? He was not with his mother and the Cornwall OPC site has no record of his burial.
John Henry's grandfather, George, died in 1840. When his grandmother, Elizabeth, died in 1844 she was aged 70 and was living in Ponsongath, St. Keverne. Where was she in 1841? Was John Henry living with her?
John Henry's uncle, George, was a coastguard on Scilly and his other uncle, Francis, was a sailor/coastguard, either at sea or in Ireland. It seems unlikely that John Henry would be with them.
Any sightings of JHB or suggestions will be most welcome.
