  • What happened to Elizabeth Ann?

Born 1862 Leicester / Baptised 1871 Leicester - parents John & Mary Ann Harbout / Harbott / Harbutt

She's not with family in 1871 ... not found a death/burial for her (yet)

    Can anyone please find her?

Do you think this may be her? Her father was born in Rutland.

It's looks a very good bet LL. I would try following them back to see how she might be a niece. From their marriage though it would appear that Rebecca's name was probably Worsdale.

If it does prove to be her LL you might like to hold on to her Probate details - http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/19...d=&usePUB=true

Thanks Chrissie ... but just a bit confused how does the probate tie in with Elizabeth?

Ah ... I see now, I assumed she'd married in Leicester in 1883 (Harbot)
            but
you found a likely marriage in Uppingham in 1884 that seems to fit, hence probate details. :D

I wonder why Elizabeth lived with with her 'uncle and aunt' ... need to try and find a connection between them ???

Sorry to confuse you LL. Your link to the marriage on free BMD doesn't work. So I looked for a marriage between 1882 and 1884 and followed the Arnsby one. It does look a good possible though.

Just need to establish Elizabeth's (family) link with the Sparkes. ???

After a bit of digging I think Rebecca was originally Rebecca Bent, who married Samuel Worsdell before he died and she then married James Sparkes. That doesn't help with Elizabeth though I'm afraid. Her probate gives nothing away either, it just goes to the solicitor.

I was thinking along the similar lines ... although I thought she might have been a sister of Elizabeth's father John Harbutt, but unable to find appropriate marriage ...
how/where did you find Rebecca's marriage to Samuel Wordsell / Worsdale?

I can see the connection now ... Rebecca was Elizabeth's grandmother's sister
                      Just found Rebecca's probate details

It was in the England Select Marriages 1538-1973 LL.

Rebekah Bent - Female - Marriage Date 10 Oct 1836 - Marriage Place Medbourne Cum Holt,Leicester,England - Spouse Samuel Worsdell - FHL Film Number 585285, 592578

Great to hear that you have solved it
