  • Report question - help needed

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I've never tried anything like this before even though I've been entering data for years now.

    I'm using FTM 2006 version.

Is there any way that I can produce a list of people born before 1881?

    Thank you.

I don't have a copy of 2006 installed on my computer any more so this is guess work. I think you would need to prepare a custom report of everyone in your tree, including whatever information you want, e.g. name, dates/plaes of birth/death/marriage etc. and then export in cvs format. You can them open the file with excel, sort the birth date column in date order and delete the bit you don't want. You may hit a problem in that the resulting excel file doesn't recognise the date format from FTM, in which case you would need to re-enter all the dates again into excel, in a format which would be recognised - or just work through it manually deleteing those rows (names) which aren't wanted.

I believe WendyPusey still uses FTM 2006 so may be able to help with a better way of doing it.
