My Grandfather Raffaele came to UK around the end of 1800 start of 1900.(maybe with his brother Lorenzo)
I have some info from Scala.
But would love to know more.from Itaia or UK
How did he get to the UK ?
How and who he traveled with?
Where was he during the World Wars?

According to records he married in Holborn London in 1908
was this the correct spouse GUISEPPA ESPOSITO


On the death record it says born 1882
died Wandsworth district in 1958

What are the exact names you are looking for? First and Second names in full please.

Italians in the UK may have been jailed during the Wars as were other foreigners, unless he had obtained British nationality.

There is a brother in the house named Varley Barsley!! Must be an Anglicised name for the person as it says born in Naples.

There are not usually passenger lists for people travelling within Europe, only going to USA, Canada and Australia etc.

for Mr Palillo living at 39 Brenton Street, Limehouse, London no other infrmation than 2 men 3 women at the address. I imagine the name has been badly transcribed and will need to be found using the address.

Hi Margaret
The Correct surname name is PAOLILLO from Scala Italia
But I have seen it spelt PAULINO, PAULINA, PAOLINI.
I know & have relations in the UK with the spelling PAULINA [unsure why thought to be because of the war] his name was Harry he was my fathers brother.
I am 95% certain that my Grandfather did not become a British national as I have a letter from the National Archives stating this.
This is why I posed the question -what happened to him during the wars
