It might be more likely to be Pinnox itself, where there was a colliery from the 1820s and not Pinnox Street. Pinnox Colliery is described as being "on the Tunstall boundary" here:
Although admittedly, by 1866 is seemed to be considered to be in Tunstall:
"FEARFUL BOILER EXPLOSION ENGLAND. Early on Saturday morning, a fearful boiler explosion occurred at the Pinnox Colliery, Tunstall, by which two men have met with horrible deaths, a third man has received what are expected to be fatal injuries, and several other persons have been..."
