  • Why can't I find my Nan!

Hi all, been looking on the 1939 register and I can't find my Nan, is there any records that haven't been transcribed or am I just not searching right?

If she died after 1991 her record will still be closed. Not all the transcriptions are 100% accurate, or are accurate but the originals have unexpected/illegible spelling. One of my Harwoods is down as Haywood for example.

If you have a FMP sub you can email them a scan of the death certificate and they will open it. If not see separate thread for cheap FMP sub.

There are plenty of people who died before 1991 who are closed, too.
