I've been in a similar situation, with two or three couples sharing the same surname and unhelpfully named John & Jane. Eventually a will sorted out one couple, when "my niece" Jane turned out to be the niece of John's wife Jane, rather than of John himself.
I think sorting the whole thing out took several years, during which time I chased up the whole extended family (or families, as a communal forbear had married twice, with children from each marriage eventually becoming enmeshed by marrying siblings and whose children then married each other.) John of the will above had a nephew John (same surname) who eventually married "my niece Jane" (same surname before & AFTER her marriage)
I collected every occurrence of the surname in the county - PR, wills, newspapers, tenancies, etc and gradually managed to plot them into one huge extended family, but it wasn't a job for the faint-hearted, nor was it easy-going! Many a night I used to go with bed with thumping headaches, with all these names echoing around inside my head. Or I would spend a couple of weeks compiling a theory and then another snippet of information a week later would bring down the whole house of cards!
Good luck, Glen, with both your tree and with keeping your sanity.

All I have so far is the Edward married 1755 could write and the other one couldn't but is the Pooring related to the previous generation

Lincs to the Past has one register marriage with three Raby marriages over the two pages.

I have the same problem with Thomas/Elizabeth pairs too, seems one Thomas was widowed and remarried.............another Elizabeth.

Somewhere I'm sure they are all connected to each other but there are a few parishes close to Wragby and they seem to be in all of them.

I'm hoping they've finished playing with the radio masts so I can get onto a few sites today, any searching yesterday was a waste of time just after I posted, the joys of wireless internet!!!

26 July 1728 was a Friday according to an online calculator, so not the date of banns, which were read on three Sundays. Either two separate marriages or, bearing in mind the similarity of Pooring and Perrin, two entries for the same marriage (could one be the bishops transcript?) With one having the month mistranscribed.

I've just found the image of the register in the Porring spelling.

There are only two marriages for the year in the parish register, the other couple (named Brown and Hooton/Horton) married earlier in the year.

It's not until I found Edward in the Rawby spelling that it seemed to fit together better.

Through marriages, remarriages etc the Raby, Espin and Chambers families are all linked and my direct line, also in amongst them in the early 1800's are the Perryn/Perrin family, I can see where this is heading..........another set of intermingled marriages back to family using the Pooring/Porring spelling.

                    Oh heck

Elizabeth Raby b1770 (see post #1), married into the Chambers family. Her first born child is a Susannah Harwood Chambers, the middle name always threw me but just found these

                    Thomas Rawby
                    England Marriages, 1538–1973
marriage: 26 September 1728 Wragby, Lincoln, England
                    spouse: Elizabeth Perrin

                    Thomas Rawby
                    England Marriages, 1538–1973
                    marriage: 1736 Wragby, Lincoln, England
                    spouse: Elizabeth Harwood

Now comes the nightmare of trying to find if the two marriages are for the same Thomas or not!!
