  • thomas ambler in 1861 and 1871

thomas ambler, b.1844 leeds, son of lawrence ambler and dorothy halliwell. in 1851, he is a pupil at the industrial school for pauper children. after this he vanishes. there is a burial in beckett st cemetery, leeds in 1878 of a thomas ambler, 33 b.1845 of the workhouse. i don't think west yorks workhouse records are online yet, but can anyone spot a likely thomas in 1861 or 1871?

i think it's him, thanks val. enlisted 1859 in woolwich, kent. discharged in 1873 with intention to live in leeds, then the burial in 1878 of the workhouse. i guess he may not lived in poverty? possibility he was in the workhouse because he was sick? death cert may reveal something.
