    Probably only by looking for a funeral notice in the local paper.

        You can look at the most recent GRO death indexes on microfiche at one of the designated libraries, which should be complete up to the last quarter (Apr-Jun at the moment) , or you contact the registration offices in the areas they are most likely to have died.

              Have you googled their name? That sometimes brings up a newspaper obituary site which you have to go through to find the precise entry. (I've used that method to locate recent dates of deaths.)

                I usually Google their name followed by obituary.
                Chrissie passed away in January 2020.
