  • Anyone on Ancestry please?

I've come across a pile of records suggesting a couple had numerous children and some Ancestry trees seem to feature the names associated with the couple but I can't access Ancestry again. I'm wondering if anyone can have a look at them please?

The following records come from family search, I believe the Ancestry trees suggest the children are all born to Edward Raby and Elizabeth Maltson, I'm just a bit concerned about the date range and gaps between children though freereg has a burial record of Elizabeth Raby, wife of Edward, d 1797 aged 57 and a marriage record for 2 Jun 1761. Those two records make me doubt the 1755 christening of Ann Raby below.

    Ann Raby
    England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
christening: 20 November 1755 WRAGBY, LINCOLN, ENGLAND
    father: Edward Raby
    mother: Elizabeth
If correct this predates the 1761 marriage and mum would have been around 15 years old and known as Elizabeth Maltson

    George Raby
    England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
christening: 4 January 1779 Wragby, Lincoln, England
    residence: Wragby, Lincoln, England
    father: Edward Raby
    mother: Elizabeth

    Thomas Raby
    England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
christening: 6 October 1766 WRAGBY, LINCOLN, ENGLAND
    father: Edward Raby
    mother: Elizabeth

    Elizabeth Raby
    England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
christening: 19 October 1770 Wragby, Lincoln, England
    residence: Wragby, Lincoln, England
    father: Edward Raby
    mother: Elizabeth

    Mary Raby
    England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
christening: 30 May 1776 Wragby, Lincoln, England
    residence: Wragby, Lincoln, England
    father: Edward Raby
    mother: Elizabeth

    Frances Raby
    England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
christening: 28 August 1773 Wragby, Lincoln, England
    residence: Wragby, Lincoln, England
    father: Edward Raby
    mother: Eliz

The 1755 baptism is there in the image of Wragby PRs on Lincstothepast
"Ann ye Daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Raby November 20th [born] 3rd"

Plus (again on the PR image on Lincstothepast)
31 Mar 1755 Edward Raby m Elizabeth Petch after banns

I'm really scratching around now, I have three family lines in the area, Raby, Espin and Chambers, they all seem to marry into the other lines a few times and only use a smallish number of forenames, varied probate records don't help, "to my niece Ann" appears three times in one will but it seems it's three different nieces. I think the 1755 bapt is likely a different part of the family.

I'm also trying to pin down a birth for Edward, I think I have his burial which helps

      County Lincolnshire
      Place Wragby
      Church All Saints
      RegisterNumber
      BurialDate 11 Mar 1792
      Forename Edward
      Relationship Son of
      Rel1MaleForename Thomas
      Rel1FemaleForename Elizabeth
      Rel1Surname RABY
      Surname RABY
      Age 53
      Abode Wragby
      Notes Convulsions. Mother formerly POORING
      FileNumber 25741

The following would therefore appear to be the parents marriage

      Name: Thomas Rawby
      Spouse's Name: Elizabeth Porring
      Event Date: 26 Jul 1728
      Event Place: Wragby, Lincoln, England

Do you use Lincstothepast, Glen? The Wragby records are reasonably legible.

Sorry the Irish PR images have just come on line and I'm otherwise engaged now!!!

Glen the Wragby records are all free to search on Lincs to the Past.
I would not worry at all what is on ancestry tree's, if you do your own research you KNOW it is correct.
Sorry Anne I see you beat me to it!!
